Great Sand Dunes National Park & San Luis Valley

July 2025 visit to Great Sand Dunes National Park and the surrounding San Luis Valley area in southern Colorado. The trip was planned for Milky Way photography during a dark sky period. Unfortunately, each night the skies were obscured by solid cloud cover. On the bright side, each morning gave us dappled sunlight on the dunes, and each evening gave us dramatic storm clouds and gorgeous sunsets.
